The Melchior was created as part of the JMM BY HAIDER ACKERMANN collaboration — a meeting of Jacques Marie Mage’s obsessive Japanese fabrication with Ackermann’s unmistakable approach to color, proportion and luxury.

And among the three original Melchior executions, Amethyst is the knockout.

Vanta is brutal.

Tokyo Tort is beautiful.

Amethyst has everything.

The severe black rectangular front keeps the frame masculine and architectural, while the temples erupt into translucent Havana acetate with exposed precious-metal detailing.

Then JMM drops in the Orchid lenses.

That single decision changes the entire frame.

It goes from expensive eyewear to something that looks almost custom-made.
